ICAI CA May 2024: Inter, Final Exam Dates Expected To Be Rescheduled?

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) had initially scheduled the CA Intermediate and Final exams for May 2024. However, due to a clash with the 18th Lok Sabha elections, which will be held in multiple phases throughout April and May, the exam dates were subject to change.

There was initial uncertainty for students appearing for the CA Intermediate and Final examinations in May 2024. The possibility of rescheduled dates caused anxiety as exam preparation would need adjustments.

The good news for students is that the ICAI addressed this concern and proactively released a revised exam schedule. The original and revised dates are as follows:

Original Schedule:

CA Intermediate:

Group 1: May 3, 5, 7, 2024

Group 2: May 9, 11, 13, 2024

CA Final:

Group 1: May 2, 4, 6, 2024

Group 2: May 8, 10, 12, 2024

Revised Schedule:

CA Intermediate:

Group 1: May 3, 5, 9, 2024

Group 2: May 11, 15, 17, 2024

CA Final:

Group 1: May 2, 4, 8, 2024

Group 2: May 10, 14, 16, 2024

As can be seen, the revised schedule ensures there is no overlap with the election dates. This provides much-needed clarity and allows students to focus on their preparations without further disruptions.

How to Access the Latest ICAI Exam Schedule:

Students are advised to always refer to the official ICAI website ([https://www.icai.org/](https://www.icai.org/)) for the latest exam schedule and any updates. The revised schedule was officially announced on the ICAI website on March 19, 2024.

What to Do Now (if you are a student appearing for the exams):

1. Review the Revised Schedule: Double-check your exam dates as per the revised schedule. Ensure you understand the new order of your papers.

2. Adjust Your Study Plan: Since the exam dates have shifted slightly, you might need to adapt your study plan accordingly. Allocate more time to subjects with closer exams.

3. Focus on Important Topics: Prioritize revising crucial topics within each subject. Utilize past exam papers and mock tests to identify frequently tested areas.

4. Practice Time Management:Take timed practice tests to simulate the exam environment and improve your time management skills.

5. Maintain a Positive Mindset: Don’t let the initial rescheduling disrupt your focus. Channel your energy into productive studying and stay calm during the exams.

Additional Tips for CA Exam Preparation:

1. Join a Study Group: Discuss concepts and doubts with peers in a study group. This can enhance understanding and boost confidence.

2. Seek Clarifications: Don’t hesitate to reach out to professors or mentors for clarification on any topics you find challenging.

3. Take Breaks: Schedule regular breaks to avoid burnout. Ensure adequate sleep and maintain a healthy diet to optimize your mental and physical well-being.

4. Stay Updated: Keep yourself informed about any further announcements from ICAI regarding the exams.
