CA Foundation May 2023 – Registration & Eligibility Criteria

Dates for CA Foundation Registration for the May 2023 Exam have been released.
The deadline to register for the CA Foundation 2023 exam is January 1 for
attempts in May and July 1 for endeavours in May.

The prerequisite exam for enrolling in an Indian Chartered Accounting Course is
the CA Foundation Course. The CA Examination is administered in India by the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Students may register with the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the CA Foundation Course after
passing the CBSE Class 12th examination or an equivalent exam approved by the
government or another government organization. Students who wish to enrol in
the CA Foundation course must complete the CA Foundation Registration and
Application Form in a methodical manner.

A registration process for the CA Foundation is held twice a year, in December
and June.

Following the announcement of the CA Foundation Result for the current session,
the ICAI issues new CA Foundation Registration Forms.

CA Foundation Eligibility

Only after passing the senior secondary (10+2) examination administered by an
examining body students are eligible to sit for the CA Foundation Examination.
Students must finish at least 4 months of study after registering with ICAI in order
to be eligible to appear in the Foundation Examination, meaning that students
registered before January 1 will be eligible to appear in the May examination and
before July 1 for the Nov examination, as the case may be.

According to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’s updated CA
Foundation Course, in order to enrol in the CA course, prospective CAs must pass
the CA Foundation Examination rather than the Common Proficiency Test.

As a result, the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) registration process will end as of
July 1, 2017, while exams for students who registered before that date will still be
administered through June 2019.
