ICAI CA Foundation Exam Dates September 2025

CA Foundation exam dates for September 2025 have been declared. Exam will start from September 16, 2025. ICAI has released the exam and registration schedule of CA Foundation September 2025 session on May 30, 2025. Application form will be available from July 5 onwards on SSP portal. CA Foundation mock tests dates have also been released. CA Foundation mock tests will be held in two phases in August.

CA Foundation May examination was conducted on May 15, 17, 19 and 21, 2025. CA Foundation May 2025 exam result is likely to be declared by July. The scorecard will be made downloadable from the ICAI result portal. Marks verification window will be opened by the examination board a day after the CA Foundation result declaration. What is ICAI CA Foundation Exam?

CA Foundation is the initial level of the course for Chartered Accountancy career in India. Held and monitored by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the CA course makes sure that a candidate aspiring to become a chartered accountant gets trained on every element of accounting and taxation that is important to guide a business organisation to function smoothly within the realm of law.

According to University Grants Commission (UGC), CA qualification is considered on par with a postgraduate degree. CA exam is held at three levels based on the CA courses. Candidates need to clear all course levels for being certified as Chartered Accountant. Below are the CA courses from first to third:

CA Foundation course examination (4 papers)
CA Intermediate examination (6 papers – Group 1 and Group 2)
CA Final examination (6 papers -Group 1 and Group 2)

ICAI CA is a professional course that enables candidates to pursue Chartered Accountancy as a career. If the person has to practice Chartered Accountancy in India, then they need to clear the CA course that consists of three levels. ICAI CA Foundation Eligibility Criteria 2025

CA Foundation course is available for students after Class 12. It is better to opt for Commerce stream in Class 12 since students would already be exposed to economy, taxation and accounting. Candidates willing to do CA after graduation, are not required to enroll for CA Foundation. Students can directly enroll for CA Intermediate level and continue with the course. Applicants looking for admissions in the CA Foundation program should meet the course-wise eligibility criteria as given below:

CA Foundation Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from Central or State Board of Education.

Applicants who have:
1. Joined with Board of Studies on or before 30 June of the year of the CA Foundation exam.
2. Altered to CA Foundation Course with ICAI Board of Studies on or prior to September 7 of the exam year.
