CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) is where a Company Secretary career actually begins — ICSI won’t let a student register for CS Executive without clearing it first. Some Categories Are Exempt
ICSI Foundation pass-outs, CA Final (ICAI) clearers, and CMA Final (ICMAI) clearers can skip CS Foundation and register directly for CS Executive.

Registration Validity
Once registered, your CS Foundation status holds for 3 years; a passed result stays valid for 1 year, within which you must register for CS Executive.

CSEET is the entry-level exam conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) for students who want to pursue the Company Secretary course. Clearing CSEET is mandatory to register for the CS Executive Programme.
Students who have passed or are appearing in Class 12 (any stream except fine arts) can appear for CSEET. Graduates and postgraduates are also required to clear CSEET before moving into CS Executive.
Four subjects: Business Communication, Fundamentals of Accounting, Economic and Business Environment, and Business Laws and Management.
Under the restructured format (effective June 2026), CSEET is a 4-day, centre-based exam. Three papers — Business Communication, Fundamentals of Accounting, and Economic and Business Environment — are subjective, each carrying 100 marks over 3 hours. The fourth, Business Laws and Management, is OMR-based, 100 marks over 2 hours, with no negative marking.
ICSI conducts CSEET three times a year — February, June, and October.
A minimum of 40% marks in each paper, and 50% marks in aggregate across all papers, in a single sitting. There is no exemption or carry-forward of marks.
