ICWAI (Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India) has been renamed as the ICMAI (Institute of Cost Accountants of India). Also, ICWA course has been renamed as CMA course.
CMA course has three levels which are:
- CMA Foundation
- CMA Inter
- CMA Final
Conditions for admission to CMA Inter Direct Entry Scheme
A person desiring to become a registered student need to apply to the Institute in the prescribed Form, (enclosed at the end of this Prospectus), with appropriate fees and to produce documentary evidence to the satisfaction of the Council that he/she has passed any of the following Examinations:
1. Entry Level-Part I of Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) course of this Institute;
2. A honours degree of any recognized University or its equivalent.
3. A Master Degree of any recognized University or any of the Indian Institute of Management.
4. A pass in an Engineering Degree of any recognized University or any of the Indian Institute of Technology or the Indian Institute of Science;
5. The Final Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England and Wales, Scotland or Ireland or the Final Examination of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, London or the Final Examination of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India; Final Examination of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, U. K.
6. Intermediate (by whatever name called) passed students of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
7. Section ‘A’ and Section ‘B’ Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) or equivalent;
8. Subordinate Accounts Service Examination organized by the Central/State Government Organizations;
9. The Banking Examinations were divided into Part-I and Part-II and was named as C. A. I. I. B.
10. Any other examinations as may be recognized by the Council for the purpose of admission as a registered student of the Institute.
CMA Inter Direct Entry Registration Process
The following steps can be taken by the candidates to complete the CMA Inter Direct Entry application form for Syllabus 2022:
- Step 1 – Open the official website of the institute i.e. icmai.in -> go to the “Students” tab which is located on the menu bar.
- Step 2 – On the menu bar, click on the tab that says “Admission”.
- Step 3 – On the admission page, there is an option “Online admission” which is visible on the left side of the page.
- Step 4 – On the page that opens, locate and click on the “Apply for Intermediate Course” link. At the moment, the registration for CMA Inter December 2024 is open.
- Step 5 – Generate OTP by filling the necessary details for CMA Inter 2024 registration.
- Step 6 – Enter your CMA Intermediate login details and go through your CMA Inter application form 2024. Check the information and click on ‘Save and Next’.
- Step 7 – Submit the documents that are necessary
- Step 8 – Finalize the payment process. The fee has to be paid depending on the type of the coaching you have chosen: oral or postal. After making the payment for the CMA Intermediate registration, a confirmation receipt will be issued. It is recommended that the receipt be saved for future use as a reference.
Eligibility for Foundation Course
- A candidate should have passed Class 10 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Institution.
- The candidate should have completed the Senior Secondary Examination under 10+2 scheme of a recognized Board or an Examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto or has passed National Diploma in Commerce Examination held by the All-India Council for Technical Education or any State Board of Technical Education under the authority of the said All India Council, or the Diploma in Rural Service Examination conducted by the National Council of Higher Education.
Eligibility for Final Course
Completed Intermediate course of the Institute and have practical training of 15 months.
