ICSI Announces New President and Vice-President for 2025: Full Details

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) announced in 2025 with new vision and leadership. On 19th January 2025, the Institute on their website declared CS Dhananjay Shukla as President and CS Pawan G Chandak as Vice-President. Both are highly qualified professionals with experience spanning over several decades, they come with a strong vision to lead ICSI to greater heights of governance, compliance, and professional excellence altogether.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has declared the new leadership of the institute for 2025. As from 19th January 2025, CS Dhananjay Shukla is elected as the President and CS Pawan G Chandak as the Vice-President of ICSI.

CS Dhananjay Shukla is a Commerce and Law graduate and a Fellow Member of the ICSI. He is also a Practising Company Secretary from Gurugram with solid experience in Corporate Law, Securities Law, and Taxation. His dedication and involvement in the profession are reflected through his long association with ICSI in various capacities.

Having acted as Vice-President of ICSI in 2024, the professional life of CS Shukla within the Institute has been highly contributory. He was chosen to be a member of the Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) of ICSI for 2011-2014 and re-elected for 2015-2018. Throughout this period, he served in important roles, such as that of Chairman of the Northern Region in 2017. Besides this, he has been a member of the Secretarial Standards Board (SSB) of ICSI in 2019 and 2020.

CS Shukla has over two decades of practice experience in the corporate sector. He had been a Company Secretary in some of the large corporate groups before starting his independent practice in 2009. He has also been closely engaged in helping Start-Up ventures in India funded by foreign promoters. His presidency would also go a long way in further consolidating the institution and expanding its activities.

CS Pawan G Chandak, elected as Vice-President of ICSI for 2025, is a post-qualification Company Secretary specializing in Labour Laws and Labour Welfare. He is a founder partner of M/s KPRC & Associates and has vast experience in different areas such as Corporate Laws, Industrial Laws, Foreign Exchange Laws, Legal Metrology, SEZ, STPI, EOUs, and Arbitration Matters.

He has been an advisory and legal Independent Director for some of the leading corporate groups and multinational organizations for several years. His experience is wide-ranging across different fields of law and operations like deal structuring, merger and amalgamation issues, and secretarial audits.

His connection with ICSI is as a member of the Central Council for 2023–2026. He was earlier elected a member of the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of ICSI for the period 2019–2022 and since assuming office has served as Secretary (2019), Vice-Chairman (2020), and Chairman (2021). He was Chairman of the Pune Chapter in 2012 and 2017.

With a strong professional background and over 20 years of professional experience, CS Chandak has been actively involved in elevating professional standards and good governance practices in the corporate sector. His leadership will certainly enhance the professional space further for Company Secretaries.
