To attain an All India Rank in a professional course like the Company Secretary, i.e., the CS course, is a dream for many students. The journey is long, and it demands discipline, a proper strategy, and hard work. We will be discussing Sheetal’s success story, who achieved an All India Rank of 14 in the CS Executive Exam held in December 2025.

The most fascinating part of Sheetal’s success story is that she started preparing for the exam just a few months before the exam date and was still able to attain a top rank in the exam. In this blog, we will be discussing Sheetal’s study strategy, her preparation strategy, and many such interesting aspects.

Introduction of Sheetal’s CS Journey

Sheetal took up the CS Executive course through the direct entry route after completing her BBA graduation. She simultaneously took up LLB as well, meaning she was pursuing two courses simultaneously, which is a very tough job.

• Registration with ICSI: June

• Preparation for the Exam Started: Mid-July

• Taking up the Exam: December 2025

• Result Achieved: All India Rank 14

Sheetal cleared both groups of the CS Executive course despite preparing for the exam while dealing with her LLB exams.

First Reaction After Getting AIR 14

The first reaction after getting the rank was surprising. Sheetal did not verify the result. Instead, a friend rang her while she was having lunch and told her the news.

Initially, Sheetal was under the impression that her friend was joking and was doing so to make her happy. But after verifying the result, she was shocked and extremely happy. Sheetal was expecting to clear the exam, but getting an All India Rank 14 was beyond her expectations.

Preparation Timeline for CS Executive

Sheetal’s preparation was well-planned and organized.

July – September: Completing Lectures

Sheetal started watching lectures from mid-July, i.e., around 21 July. She completed lectures for all seven subjects in two months, i.e., by September.

It is noteworthy that Sheetal did not attend live lectures. She watched recorded lectures, and it was a huge help for her.

Sheetal’s initial plan was:

• Watching lectures every day for 12 hours

• Following a weekly plan for revision

Sheetal watched lectures from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday, she revised everything she studied during the week.

Smart Usage of Lecture Speed at Unique academy for commerce

The smartest part of Sheetal’s preparation was how she watched lectures.

• Regular lectures: At 2x speed

Watching lectures at a faster speed was helpful in covering the syllabus in less time and staying focused at the same time.

She said that while watching lectures at 2x speed, she had to concentrate more in order not to miss any important information.

Revision Strategy

Rankers revise the syllabus at least 5-6 times, but Sheetal’s approach was totally different.

Sheetals’ revisions can be estimated as follows:

• Tax: 1 revision

• JIGL: 4-5 revisions

• CMSL subject: 6-7 revisions

• Other subjects: 2-3 revisions

Since she was an LLB student, she was very good at law and theoretical subjects, and hence she could finish these revisions in less time.

Daily Study Hours

The hours she studied in the main preparation months:

• Approximately 8 hours in October and November

• More hours on exam days

Since she had LLB internal exams and semester exams, she could not study very long hours. Yet, she managed to succeed in her exams.

How She Studied Theory Subjects?

Sheetal was very good at law and theoretical subjects. She studied these in the following ways:

1. She made sure she had clear concepts instead of memorizing.

2. She studied all the modules very carefully.

3. Creation of stories or connections to aid in remembering

She attempted to grasp the concept thoroughly instead of memorizing it superficially. This helped her to recollect the answers during her examination.

She also attempted to prepare questions on a chapter-wise basis for subjects such as Company Law and write out her answers in advance.

Use of AI Tools to Practice Answers

Another interesting aspect is that Sheetal used AI tools such as ChatGPT to practice her answers.

Her steps were as follows:

1. Upload a chapter or topic.

2. Ask ChatGPT to set ICSI questions on that topic.

3. Solve those questions and send photos of her answers to ChatGPT.

4. ChatGPT will then assess her answers and give her feedback and marks.

This helped her to assess her answer writing strategy without attending test series regularly.

How Sheetal Approached Answer Writing?

Sheetal did not write answers repeatedly. Instead, she concentrated on how to write an answer.

Her thoughts were:

• How would I write this answer in my examination?

• What are the various points to be covered?

• What sections or provisions are to be covered?

Sheetal felt that these were more important than writing multiple practice

Handling Distractions While Studying

Sheetal, like all students, faced distractions while studying. Yet, she managed these distractions in an easy manner.

She always kept in her mind:

“If I am going to create questions from this topic later, I must understand it properly now.”

She had to study for both CS and LLB exams simultaneously. This motivated her to finish her preparations early.

Importance of Concept-Based Revision

Sheetal also emphasized an important point:

“Always remember that while revising, you have to revise in the manner in which you have to write your answers in the exam.”

She never studied randomly. Instead, she always kept in her mind that every topic could become an exam question. So, while revising, she always kept in her mind that she was going to write an answer in the exam. This helped her in answering all questions in the exam.

Key Lessons from Sheetal’s Success

Some important lessons can be drawn from Sheetal’s success:

• Plan your preparation in advance.

• Concept clarity is more important than rote learning.

• Revising on a weekly basis is important.

• Technology and AI can be helpful in preparation.

• Study with the mindset of writing exam answers.

• Regularly maintain the number of daily study hours.

Her story is an example of how strategy is as important as hard work.
